The valve will automatically vent lines of accumulated air or gas.
The unit comprises a chamber with inlet connection at bottom centre, and purge connections at the side for cleaning.
A large float controls the valve operations. The design is such that liquid does not rise above the float chamber to foul the discharge orifice.
Until liquid enters the float chamber, the valve orifice is open to atmosphere. As the liquid enters the chamber the float rises to close the valve. The liquid level continues to rise until the gas is compressed to the line pressure. Gas continues to accumulate and its increasing volume depresses the liquid level to a point where the float weight opens the valve. Gas is discharged, liquid re-enters and the cycle is repeated.
